The Legacy Bank and Trust Headquarters was recently awarded the Biz 417 2023 Commercial Design Award for General Office and Professional Services. The award recognizes designs that encompass functionality and beauty in 417-land. BRP Architects served as the architect for this project.
Biz 417’s Commercial Design Awards celebrate the outstanding interior designers and architects in the 417 area. For the 2023 edition, entries were submitted to a jury of board members from the Michigan chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers. The winning entries were selected based on criteria tailored to lifestyle, health care, renovation, and general office categories.
We are exceptionally proud to have been a part of the team to design this award-winning project in our hometown. Legacy Bank and Trust’s vision was to build a bank headquarters that not only strengthened and solidified their presence in the community, but also allowed room for their future growth. Our team worked closely with Legacy Bank and Trust and Grooms Office Environments, the interior design and furniture procurement company, to design a functional facility that would enhance their image, reflect their strength and capabilities, while serving their clients in a new and refreshing environment.
The 2.5-acre property was once the home of Meek’s Lumber. The site now boasts the four story, 40,000 square foot facility The first floor has over 6,000 square-feet dedicated to retail banking with customer- centered workspaces and amenities. The remaining three floors, or approximately 30,000 square-feet, consist of Class A office space which includes the bank’s centralized operations, executive team, and community development divisions.
In addition, Legacy Bank and Trust Headquarters has many unique features throughout the building such as a banking lounge for customers, a grand staircase, a large executive board room, a contemporary hospitality space, large executive offices, a covered outdoor balcony on the fourth floor, and a fitness center for employees.
