On January 21st, we welcomed back Cole Vincent, Architectural Student Intern, to our team. Cole previously interned with us in 2023, so we’re excited to have him return.
Cole, from Ankeny, IA, is a fifth-year student at Drury University's Hammons School of Architecture, pursuing a Master of Architecture with a minor in Business and Entrepreneurship. In Spring 2024, Cole studied abroad in Paris France through a 10-week study abroad program. Outside of his studies, Cole enjoys staying active through soccer and exploring the great outdoors on hiking adventures.
Let’s reconnect with Cole…
Who or what inspired you to pursue architecture?
After visiting an architecture firm with my dad, around 10 years old, I realized that architecture was just like building Legos. From then on, I knew I would become an architect and was further inspired by Frank Loyd Wright after I got some of his Lego Architecture sets.

What is your favorite piece of architecture?
This is too hard of a question, but my favorite type of architecture is designs that respond eloquently to its context and intended function.
Name one of your passions or hobbies?
Photography, Soccer, and building Models

What’s your favorite class that you’ve taken at Drury and why?
I took a Meaning of Life Class with Chris Panza my first year of college. We explored different philosophies and their insights into the unique and strange reality we face in everyday life. Not only did this give me a foundation for how to approach life but it helped me structure a philosophical approach to architecture, centered around a curiosity to explore the nuances of each individual project and a commitment to molding our environment towards a greater good.
What’s your favorite food or restaurant?
A thick cut, dry aged, Ribeye cooked on high heat until medium rare.
