Grizzly Distribution Center & Showroom Expansion
Grizzly Industrial Inc., which sells woodworking and metalworking machinery and tools, expanded its distribution center as well as its showroom this year.
The distribution center expansion included a 62,250 square feet addition to its 300,000 square-foot facility at 2102 W. Battlefield Road. This facility handles the shipping and distribution of Grizzly products for the Midwest and all of the east coast. The clear height inside is 30’ to maximize the storage capabilities of the facility. The new additional space will allow the company to increase inventory and continue to bring on new products.
Additionally, the company also expanded its showroom at the corner of Kansas Expressway and Battlefield Road by 4,000 square feet. The showroom expansion will utilize previous warehousing space at the facility allowing for more sales area for their expanding product lines.
Grizzly came to Springfield in 1999 and continues to expand on the synergies of an excellent workforce and central location for shipping. They expanded into this distribution center in 2001. This addition is part of their long-term growth strategy which will include another duplicate distribution center south of the current facility.

Legacy Bank and Trust Headquarters
BRP Architects and Legacy Bank and Trust combined efforts to design the new bank headquarters at 3250 East Sunshine Street in Springfield MO. The prominent location, just east of U.S. Route 65 allows for ease of access to the 2.5-acre property that was once a Meek’s Lumber.
The four-story high headquarters has a simple but striking geometric form that is emphasized but careful articulation of details. The facade is composed of dark cement fiber and lots of glass, allowing for an abundance of natural light and panoramic views. On the first floor, the building has 1,600 square-foot dedicated to retail banking with a drive-thru along with 4,500 square-foot of customer centered workspace and amenities. The remaining three floors (approximately 30,000 square-foot) consist of Class A office space that house the bank’s centralized operations, executive team, and community development divisions. New York Life Insurance Co. and the Kirkland Woods & Martinsen LLP law firm currently occupy the building’s third floor lease space.
Maries County R-1 School District Phase 1 & 2
After assisting with the passage of their bond, the Maries County R-1, K-12 School District project was designed and constructed in three phases. Phase 1 consisted of site improvements including improving drainage at the athletic fields, installing a new track surface, resurfacing, and expanding the parking lot, replacing the parking lot lighting, and improving the accessibility of the site. Phase 2 consisted of replacing the existing windows of the oldest buildings on campus, repairing the façade at those window replacement locations, and installing secure, bullet proof entrances using state-of-the-art systems. Phase 3 consisted of an addition at the south end of the building. This new, compact entrance solved many of the facility’s prior concerns, including adding an interior access to a band room where one did not previously exist, providing more pre-function space outside of the gymnasium to accommodate game day, constructing a concessions stand to service the gymnasium, and addressing heightened security measures at that entrance. The project located in Vienna Missouri was completed under budget.
Ramata Italian (pronounced Ra·mà·ta Italian) remodeled the former Famous Dave’s location at the Branson Landing. BRP designed the 7,677 sq. ft. remodel by converting the space from a lodge-themed barbecue joint to a contemporary eloquent fine dining restaurant. The Ramata Italian restaurant features a bar and lounge, dining room, chef’s table and private dining room, an outdoor patio space overlooking Lake Taneycomo, seating a total of 231 guests. The restaurant started welcoming guests in December of 2021.
SRC Logistics Expansion – Phase II
The SRC Logistics Mulroy plant was part of a long-range campus plan to utilize a large tract of land on North Mulroy road in Springfield, MO. It was designed to meet the ever-expanding manufacturing need of the SRC expanding family of companies.
Phase II of the multiphase expansion project finished earlier this year and consisted of the addition of a 144,000 square-foot pre-engineered metal building addition and an 8,000-square-foot office addition. Phase III, a 410,000 square-foot building is currently underway.

For comparison, a football field (including end zones) covers 57,600 square feet. The distribution center covers a total of 10 acres and is in a planned 220-acre industrial park that not only is near Interstate 44 but also will have railroad access.
