#WeekendsInSGF is our employee takeover where we try to highlight fun things to do in and around our hometown, Springfield, MO. This month BR&P Intern Architect, Layne, his wife Spenser, & their daughter, Kinsley took over the account.
Friday:
We’re the Huntons! It’s officially the weekend. ? Join us for a weekend in Springfield, you won’t want to miss out on the fun!
Zenith Climbing Center is new to the Springfield area and offers a variety of activities beyond climbing such as yoga and aerial silks. From birthday parties, the fun kids area and with lots of bouldering problems/wall routes, there is something for every skill level!
Saturday:
Cool Saturday mornings are perfect for a ride in the jeep to the Farmer’s Market!
Our little found some flowers that caught her eye! There are so many booths here at the Farmer’s Market we’ve had to make several loops to make sure we didn’t miss anything! We came home with these goodies! Onions, cucumbers and tomatoes for a delicious salad, blueberries for Kinsley to try, and a beautiful bouquet of flowers! It was hard not getting something from every booth because it all looked and smelled so good!
Spending the afternoon at the Springfield Nature Center! A beautiful place, with over 79 acres to explore. You can see all types of animals there including deer, turkey, turtles, and foxes!
Layne and I are ending this beautiful summer night with some delicious Andy’s Frozen Custard. This is one of our favorite local treats! Tonight Layne enjoyed a blackberry concrete and I enjoyed a strawberry shortcake sundae. Yum!
Sunday:
We climbed like monkeys today at Nathanael Greene Park! They even had a storybook to read as you walked along one of the paths with each page on a board. It’s a beautiful day to celebrate the Dads in your life, we would like to wish all the Dads a happy Father’s Day!
