Every month, we try to highlight fun things to do in and around Springfield with our #WeekendsInSGF takeover. For April, BR&P Intern Architect, Colton, Erin, & their dog, Willy-Bob took over the account.
Hi everyone! It’s Colton, Erin, and Willy-Bob – we are so excited to start our #WeekendsinSGF with all of you! We are starting off at Busiek State Park, just about 30 minutes south of Springfield. This is an awesome place to hike, trail ride, and spend time outside. Keep following along as we hike the Red trail!
Willy loves to run on the trails and through these awesome fields of wild flowers. It’s a beautiful day in Springfield – sunny and in the high 70s!
We stumbled upon this great view! And to think, it’s only 30 minutes from Springfield, right off of Highway 65!
On nice evenings like tonight, we like to go to Cherry Pickers Package X Fare, located on Pickwick and Cherry in downtown Springfield. They have an awesome patio and serve special beer, wine, and spirits you can’t find at other bars.
Enjoying the beautiful weather and some fried food at the Springfield Rock’n Ribs Festival! Rock’n Ribs is held every year and benefits seven local children’s charities. Eighty teams come from all over to compete for the best barbecue!
Rock’n Ribs was so much fun last night! Today, we are enjoying the beautiful weather by grilling out with friends in our back yard.
We picked up some awesome vegetables from the Farmers Market of the Ozarks, and they look delicious on the grill.
We’ve had a great weekend and we are so glad we could share it with everyone! Ending the night with a fire, some key lime pie from City Butcher, and the premier of Game of Thrones. Keep up with us and our other adventures this summer by following @currrtain_rod and @erinhargis. Thanks again everyone!
Until next time!
