The BR&P designed Courtyard by Marriott in downtown Holland, MI is open for business! The five-story, 140-room hotel opened on February 25, and has amenities including two restaurants, Big E’s and The Bistro, an indoor/outdoor hot tub, an indoor pool, open common spaces, and a fitness room. The hotel was designed with the modern day traveler in mind, where spaces transition seamlessly from relaxation to business, along with ample technology integration. For the past two years, BR&P Architect and Partner, David Hess, AIA, has been working hard on the Courtyard. His favorite feature is the custom exterior design and brick detailing that was developed to fit with the historic Dutch character of the downtown.

Another BR&P design, the Holiday Inn Express & Suites, located in downtown Louisville, is about to open as well! The eight-story, 145-room hotel, which plans to open for business on April 5, will be ready just in time for the Kentucky Derby. The hotel has several unique aspects, according to Benjamin Van Eps, AIA, BR&P Architect and Partner. One is the use of insulated concrete forms (or ICF) on such a tall structure. Another is the integration of local art and culture from the Glassworks District, a vibrant mixed-use art community in downtown Louisville. The hotel features 28 suites, and many of the rooms will have double-queen beds or king-sized beds. Other amenities include meeting room space, Wi-Fi, breakfast service, and a marketplace.
