Misty Brubaker

Misty:

What’s the best place you’ve ever visited? Orlando, Florida…the beaches and sun.

Favorite movie of all time? My favorite movie is P.S. I Love You.

Tell me something unique about you. I am very interested in cars, car shows and car meets.

What food do you crave the most? PIZZA! You can never have too much pizza!

What’s your favorite thing about Springfield? There is so much to do around town, all the people, parks, and restaurants!

If you could, who would you swap places with for the day? Any person from another country so I could experience a new culture.

Fall is finally here! What’s your favorite Fall activity? Going to the park or doing anything outside with my son and preparing for Halloween!

Jon Gruett

Jon:

Favorite local restaurant? Big Whiskey’s American Bar and Grill.

What can you compare architecture school to? I would compare architecture school to a parent’s crying infant. They both require an immense amount of time and effort, especially when both are screaming to get something done that you may or may not know the answer to. You begin to question as to what you got yourself into, but you know at the same time that you love what you’re doing.

Favorite show to binge watch? My favorite show to binge watch is Rick and Morty.

Favorite piece of architecture in the world? Thorncrown Chapel in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.

Thorncrown Chapel - Eureka Springs, AR

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? I had no idea! I remember playing with Legos one day when I was 10 and my dad said I’d make a good architect (probably jokingly) and it just sort of stuck. I continued taking classes that I thought would prepare me to persue that and I fell in love with it!

Tell me something unique about you. I love listening to music, especially the genres that make me laugh. Generally, I listen to variations of rock and hip-hop, but the vocals and lyrics made in deeper genres such as popular rap and heavy metal just make me laugh for some reason, so most of my friends never understand why I listen to “terrible music.”

Megan Evans

Megan:

When did you know you wanted to be an architect? I found out about architecture second semester of my first year at Drury. I started at Drury as a psych/crim major and, after a semester, knew it wasn’t for me. I decided to try some architecture classes and fell in love with it.

Favorite place you’ve been? My favorite place was Berlin, Germany.

Favorite show to binge watch? I love to binge watch Dexter and Grey’s Anatomy.

Tell me something unique about you This past summer, I studied abroad in Italy and was able to visit Germany and Spain, as well.

What is something you’d like to learn how to do? Fluently speak Spanish. I would love to learn other languages too, but I want to start with Spanish.

Best concert you’ve ever attended? The best concert I ever attended was Taylor Swift.

What food do you crave the most? I love chicken. All the time. Any kind. It’s the best.
