Meet the newest BRP team member, Grant Umlauf, Student Architectural Intern. On December 13th we welcomed him to our team.
Grant grew up in Rogersville, MO, and is a fourth-year architecture student at Drury University. He is on track to graduate in May of 2023 with a Master of Architecture and a minor in entrepreneurship. While attending Drury he has been a member of the American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS) and served as a community outreach liaison. In Grant’s spare time, you could find him enjoying the outdoors or working out.

What led you to work in this field?
“I used to always be interested in business, but I was very creative… so one time a friend came up to me and recommended architecture, so I tried a class out. I would have regretted never trying so I did and here we are.”
What destination do you hope to visit one day?
“Greece. I would love to visit Athens, Aegina, and Santorini.”
What would we most likely find you doing on the weekend?
“Probably doing my laundry for the week, going to the grocery store, getting coffee, or going to a fun event.”
Share three words that your close friends would use to describe you?
“People pleaser, reliable, fun.”
What’s your favorite music genre? “Rap/ R&B.”
What is your best tip on surviving architecture school?
“Be productive when you can, a little bit of work goes a long way. Don’t procrastinate!”
Favorite movie or tv series?
“White Collar.”
If you had to live in a holiday movie, which one would you choose?
“I would live in Home Alone with Kevin McCallister, and I would be the one with him helping him set up the traps.”
