The BR&P designed DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel & Conference Center in Evansville, Indiana was recognized by Hilton as a winner of the New Build/Adaptive Reuse of the Year at its 2016 Development Awards.

The 241 room, five story hotel & conference center is located in the heart of downtown Evansville. The hotel features 12,000 sq. ft. of event space and connects via skybridge to the Old National Events Plaza and the Ford Center. Other amenities include a health club, outdoor pool, a parking garage, onsite dining at the Stone City Grill and Quarry Bar, as well as a business center.

The DoubleTree, which opened February 14th, has been a huge factor in putting Evansville back into the convention business. The hotel is already booked for multiple conferences for organizations such as the U.S. Gymnastic Association, Indiana Cities and Towns, General Baptist, and the Indiana Lions Club.

The New Build/Adaptive Reuse of the Year award was one of six award categories recognized at the 2016 Development Awards. Matt Wehling, senior vice president, development, U.S. and Canada, Hilton said that the Hilton team “values [our owner partners’] commitment to developing and managing high-quality projects and extending the positive impact they can have into their local community.”

“This is an incredible honor,” said Richard Huffman, chief executive officer of HCW Development Company.
“This award is a reflection of the hard work and dedication our team members give to their jobs every day. The DoubleTree by Hilton Evansville is an exceptional development which we take a great deal of pride in overseeing. We would also like to thank the city of Evansville, Indiana and Old National Bank for their support of this project.”
