On June 17th we welcomed Chelsea Smith to the BRP Team.
Chelsea, a Kansas State University graduate, recently received a Master of Interior Architecture and Product Design degree. This is a five-year program that blends architectural design, interior design, product design, and furniture design. This degree allows Chelsea to have a deeper understanding in all areas associating with architecture.

Tell me something unique about you? “I collect coffee mugs. I have over 80 mugs total!”

What’s one of your favorite interior design trends? “Softer tones with black metal and natural wood accents, personalizing with various pops of color.”
What do you look forward to most being a recent graduate? “I look forward to new experiences. Moving to Springfield was a little out of my comfort zone, but it allows me to experience new opportunities and create new friends. I’m also really loving the downtown vibe.”

It’s Summer! What’s your favorite Summer activity? “I like swimming, but I’m looking forward to getting into hiking.”

What drew you to interior architecture? “I’ve always been creative, and I have a mathematical mind. This major allows me to combine those two elements in a way that I enjoy.”
If you could live anywhere else in the world where would you live? “I don’t know if I would live there but I would love to visit Japan. If not, I would love to live somewhere by the water.”
You said you love to read, what’s your favorite book? “I really love the series Bewitched and Bewildered by Alanea Alder.”
